New Contract for Vick

I am completely bumfuzzled on this news.  Michael Vick gets a 6 year $100 million dollar contract based on one season starting in Philly.  Chris Johnson has played above and beyond for two years and can't get a contract extension.  Yet, a guy that is only two years out of jail and apparently still owes 19 million dollars to creditors, who had his best season of his career, gets a new contract worth way more than he is.

Vick has only started 5 playoff games his career and is 2-3.  Before last season his most completions in a regulation game was 22.  He set career highs in almost every category last year and because of this he's worth $100 million dollars for 6 years.  Let's not forget he is 31 and has always been a fragile player.  From what I've seen players don't get more durable as they get older, take a look at Peyton Manning.

When I saw Brady get his contract and Manning get his, and even Big Ben and his huge contract, it made sense.  These guys win games, go to the playoffs, and win Superbowls.  Vick, just gives you some highlights mixed in with "potential" and this has got him two BIG contracts in his NFL career.

He is a very exciting player and is one of the most unique players ever to play the game.  But, is he worth $100 million dollars twice? I'd say no, and if you or Philadelphia has any questions about it, maybe you should go see what the Falcons think about him now?  Vick going to jail was one of the best things that has happened to the Falcons organization, they got Matt Ryan out of it.  What will Philly get out of it?
