Every week I will be picking NFL games that I like the spread on, and that I personally will bet. I will give you reasoning, and handicapping that you wont be able to argue with. I will also tell you how many units I will be betting with the max units being 10. If I'm betting 10 units, it would be wise to take a closer look to see if you want to bet it as well.
The first game I want to talk about is the Cincinnati Bengals (-1) at the Jacksonville Jaguars. This line has changed since the beginning of the week where the Bengals started a 2 point underdog. A three point swing is huge but I still feel safe making this bet and will be putting 5 units on the Bengals to cover. They have a better QB, WR core, and a significantly better defense. Jacksonville is 31st in the league in offense while Cincinnati is NUMBER ONE in defense. That is enough said.
The only other game I like this week is New Orleans Saints (-7) at the Carolina Panthers. I like the Panthers to cover this spread, and will be putting 3 units on it. The Panthers have kept things very close in all of their loses and I expect the same tomorrow. Against the Packers at home they covered a 10 point spread losing only by 7, and at the Bears covered a 7 point spread, only losing by 5. The Panthers can put points on the board and are 3rd in total offense, right behind New Orleans, and is 14th in total defense which is one ahead of New Orleans. These teams are very evenly matched despite the lack of "names" on Carolina's team. Take the spread.
